Specs from Tom Ford: Things I Want

Just last week I was thinking I could use a new pair of specs... I'm loving the Warby Parker's I have now but something a little more unique.

This morning I came across these rockin' frames from Tom Ford (quelle surprise). Mix of a light navy around the eyes with a tortoise type print on the sides. Love the contrast and how it stands out.

Definitely keeping an eye (no pun intended) on these -- they're listed at Restir but currently sold out. More info from the good folks at Hypebeast.

West Coast Inspired: Trip to San Diego

I am headed back to NYC after a quick West Coast trip to San Diego. While there I had the chance to stop by a very cool event called Common Goods, that included the Warby Parker bus, the folks from Aloha Sunday, and a number of local artisans.

Saw some great stuff + decided to put together a little San Diego inspired list of items... starting off with the Aloha Sunday Manitou swim trunks. Blue and white striped seersucker, these shorts are embroidered with anchors, and knit in California.

Another find at the market was the Apolis market bag -- done in collaboration with Aloha Sunday to represent San Diego. I love these bags, and always enjoy coming across new cities.

Like I mentioned, I swung by the Warby Parker Class Trip bus, and picked up a new pair of sunnies. The Winston fit my face perfectly and I liked the tortoise color blend. Can't wait to get these in the mail!

Finally, I was inspired by the Aloha Sunday signature tee. As Jeff Kieslich put it, it's the West Coast version of Saturdays Surf. Okay, I'll take it!

I had a great time in San Diego and these summer-like finds are getting me excited for warmer weather!

Men's Threads + Bureau of Trade: Flight of the Concorde

It's here, it's here! My first collection with Bureau of Trade. Like I mentioned yesterday, I've been very intrigued with the thematic product stories, nods to popular culture, and the ability to find the most obscure men's lifestyle item.

So today launches my first collaborative effort with them -- I am heading to northern Spain this weekend, and so I thought what better than to talk about some of the items I'd love to pack.

The Warby Parker sunnies, a vintage Ghurka bag, Unis khakis, and Rancourt camp mocs. What else could you need (well the Concorde matches are pretty cool too)...

Go on over and check it out!

Beckett Specs from Warby Parker: Things I Have

Last week I had the privilege of visiting the Warby Parker HQ in NYC, and see their current collection and some upcoming releases. It was a fantastic visit, the whole team was fantastic, and I was finally able to get a new pair of specs (something I've been wanting for a while).

Today in the mail came my Beckett in Black Matte, and I am so excited! They're a great shape, and I really like the matte finish.

If you're not familiar with the Warby Parker concept, they not only offer you great frames that are all very well priced (umm, just $95 with lenses!) and for each pair you buy they donate a pair to someone in need. It is truly a win-win model and I'm thrilled to start rockin' my new specs!
