Carven x Porter Backpack: Things I Want

Two of my favorite brands -- Carven and Porter, have collaborated on a backpack. Dream come true.

I've been obsessed with Porter for years, and on my last trip to Japan picked up a couple of pieces... the "problem" is that Porter collaborates with so many different brands, designers, artists that there is always something to want. Saturdays Surf, Margaret Howell, Comme des Garcons, the list goes on.

This piece with Carven is awesome -- I love the quilted body, leather pocket, and fabric side panels.

More info at Hypebeast, and you can pick one up at Matches.

Scotch Grain Loafers from Sid Mashburn: Things I Want

Yesterday as I was wearing my navy Sid Mashburn loafers I decided another pair may be in order. I get comments all the time on the color, and they are super comfortable.

In perusing his other footwear offerings, I came across these scotch grain loafers. I love how they already look slightly worn, the burnished toe contrasting with the leather grain.

Made in Maine, these beauts will be joining my closet very soon.

2013 CFDA Swarovski Menswear Nominees: Just One Look

Last night the CFDA announced their nominees for the 2013 CFDA Awards... and while on the women's side there were no real surprises, I was excited to see some of my favorite names in men's. Michael Bastian, Thom Browne, and Duckie Brown were all nominated for Menswear Designer of the Year. I've been longtime fans of all three, and I was interested to see Duckie make the jump to nominee this year, as they just started a much talked about collaboration with Perry Ellis.

For the Swarovski Award for Menswear, the nominees were Todd Snyder, Tim Coppens, and Public School. All so different in their aesthetic, and all three I have been talking about incessantly as of late... so am really excited to see each of their names!

Thought I'd share a favorite look of the Swarovski nominees' Fall 2013 collections, as we wait for the June award ceremony to see who takes the prize.

Tim Coppens showed quilted shorts for Spring and I loved it even more as pants for Fall:

This shearling-collared belted jacket blew me away at Todd Snyder's Fall presentation:

The layering and street-influenced look at Public School always impresses:

Inspired by the Sea: TwoThirds x Emil Kozak

Spanish brand TwoThirds, based out of the northern city of San Sebastian, puts a keen emphasis on eco friendly practices. From the fabrics they use, to their production techniques, the company's name is derived from the percentage of the Earth that is comprised of water.

They recently launched a small collaboration with artist Emil Kozak, and since I cannot get enough of anything remotely nautical, I was immediately drawn in. Aptly named "Sea You Soon", the collab includes tees and sweatshirts and fits well within the brands own collection.

Overall great pieces from TwoThirds and I love their philanthropic model -- check out the rest of it here.

Japanese Leather Wallet from Damasquina: Things I Want

One of my favorite California men's stores, Unionmade, has launched a small collection with Japanese leather goods brand Damasquina. Using vintage leather and brass hardware, the patina and craftmanship on these pieces is incredible. Make it in navy and add a nautically inspired anchor strap, and you have me sold.

The large accordion wallet is super functional with space for cash, receipts, and the assorted oddities that accumulate...

But the kicker is the removable coin pouch, an awesome addition that lets you store cards or change within the wallet.

Check out the rest of the collection at Unionmade and head to Acquire for more coverage.

Clement Chabernaud for GQ Style Germany: Things I Love

It's no secret that I'm a fan of model Clement Chabernaud. There's an ease about him that translates well regardless of what he's doing. He's all over the place now -- fronting for brands, walking every men's show from New York to Paris to Milan to London, and in a ton of editorial.

This morning I came across some snaps of a shoot he did for GQ Style Germany and loved the 50's-esque styling with a French flair, shot in Palm Springs. Quite a combination.

A favorite color trifecta -- navy, yellow, and white. Love the bright jacket and blue neckerchief.

Super chic poolside with a simple one button jacket, buoyant pocket square, and (of course) Gucci loafers.

While I don't think I'd pull off the sheer top, I was into the lightweight styling for Spring.

You can see more from the shoot here + more of Clement here!

Awesome Polos + More from Shipley & Halmos: Things I Love

I have some warm weather trips coming up, and was just thinking this morning that I needed to grab some new Shipley & Halmos polos. They are by far (by far!) my favorite polo out there, and I pick up a couple of new ones every year.

So it was perfect timing to also find out today that the brand has re-launched their website, including a stellar new design and additional content. Am totally into the Unknown Artist editorial, with nautical wares that I'll definitely be wanting for Spring.

Am a longtime fan of these guys and excited to see their Spring collection + this rockin' new site... stay tuned for more (and photos of me on the beach in my new polo).
