Thom Browne Inspired Street Style: Things I Love

I am such a huge fan of Nam, the photographer that captures amazing street style during men's fashion week events around the world.

Today he posted a fantastic group of photos focused on folks wearing the designs of Thom Browne... pre-show, post-show, in between shows -- in both collection and Moncler Gamme Bleu. It is amazing to see the way these pieces get styled, and to see the very focused aesthetic of Mr. Browne throughout everything he does.

As someone not afraid to show some ankle, this was my favorite shot...

Followed closely by Matthew Foley rockin' a TB seersucker look (with the imperfection of his collar flying away).

Get over to Nam's site and check out the rest of these amazing shots!

Cape from Moncler Gamme Bleu: Things I Want

This is not the first time Thom Browne has designed a cape for Spring... although the last one I saw was for his collaboration at Black Fleece.

In Milan this week he showed Moncler Gamme Bleu for Spring '13 and had a few hooded capes. It was the quilted gray with the Thom Browne hallmarked red, white, and blue stripe that caught my eye.

Suitable for summer rainstorms, or a windy day at the beach!

You can see the rest of the collection at Fucking Young...

Moncler Gamme Bleu Spring '12: Things I Love

No one who follows my fashion musings will be surprised to read that I loved Thom Browne's recent collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu. As with past seasons, it showed a true collaboration between the brands -- key elements of Browne's aesthetic (stripes, red/white/blue, lots of side buttons on shirts and pants) but also really stayed in line with the athletic and active feel of Moncler.

Showing a few of my favorite looks here (was obviously really into the stripes, and loved the buttons up the side of the sweater in this first look)... there were also a lot of cod-piece action, another theme prevalent in Browne's work, and a lot of quilting (again, a Moncler hallmark).

Style.com has the whole collection for you to view (and drool over).

Moncler Gamme Bleu Padded Blazer: Things I Want

File this one under: When I win Powerball. I am of course a Browne-ophile (of course meaning those who have long obsessed over Thom Browne). And I've already written on how his collaborations with Moncler really do marry together the best attributes of both brands. Such a great extension, and one that I feel has also really lifted both of them.

Now comes this padded blazer which is just fantastic. Navy (a Browne go-to color), with the signature Moncler padded stitching and right shoulder emblem.

As I head to Paris this weekend I think this is one piece that would definitely make it's way into my bag. But alas, I'll just have to lust after it for now...

Check out a few more shots at Selectism!

Things I Love: Moncer Gamme Bleu (by Thom Browne)

If you follow me and the things I like, you will not be surprised to see another post about Thom Browne. The man is amazing! And his collaborations with Brooks Brothers (via Black Fleece) and Moncler (through Gamme Bleu) have been such an outstanding melding of his signature style with the character inherent to each of those brands.

And so from Milan, here is a vide of his recent Moncler Gamme Bleu show. I love the artistry of the show -- it's never just models walking down the runway (actually I think last S/S show at the swimming pool was my favorite).

I love the puffy coats with the Thom Browne elements, and I think the gray body suits are a must-have for cold winter nights. Done + done!

Everyone in the fashion blogosphere has been talking about this show, but Hypebeast was the first place I found the video: Moncler Gamme Bleu Winter 2010. You must check it out!

Things I Want: Fall Buying Guide from Men.Style

One of my favorite spots for fashion news is men.style.com -- which unfortunately is going away, as Conde Naste separates it into distinct GQ and Details sites.

But they've just released a Fall buying guide, compiled from the buyers of some hot men's departments around the country. I have three fav's that I would love to have for my Fall wardrobe!

First, I am a huge fan of Opening Ceremony. They just plain rock! And (at least in the L.A. store) the sales staff are amazing... great knowledge of fashion and designers, and they are so helpful. You may remember my recent story about scoring a Patrik Ervell tux!

So here is a quilted dress shirt they've done as part of their private label collection. I love the quilting and the color -- perfect for Fall.

Next is a piece that no one who knows me will be surprised by. Gamme Bleu for Moncler... aka, designed by Thom Browne. Obsessed! I love this blazer because it evokes themes that are quintessential to each both Moncler and TB but remaining trim enough for a cool Fall day.

And the last item is a great pair of dress shoes from Common Projects. I have long been a fan of their sneakers, and I think the wingtips are just fantastic. I am so in need of a pair of brown shoes for work... these would be just great. I could also totally see wearing them for the end of summer, sockless, with my pants a bit rolled up.

Enjoy!

Things I Want: Moncler Gamme Bleu

I've posted before about this collab between Thom Browne (who I LOVE) and Moncler. Well here's a piece for Fall '09 that I think is rockin' and rollin' and stays true to both identities.

Great vest, great buttons, love the high collar. I am in.
