Short Sleeve Sweater by Jil Sander: Things I Want

On the same day that I bought these rockin' ties at Jeffrey's, I also tried on a short-sleeve sweater by Jil Sander. And I loved it.

It's super simple -- white with different colored bands around the color and arms. 100% wool but very light and comfortable. And I loved it.

However, I left it for another day and so it's currently just on my Things I Want list. Check it out here at The Corner.

Spring Neckwear from Orley, Givenchy, Jil Sander: Things I Have

I've been feeling a little sparse in the neckwear department and so last week headed out to do a Spring replenishment.

My first stop was the new (and very well appointed) Carson Street Clothiers. I'd been to their Opening Night party and spotted a few amazing Orley ties. So I went back to pick up their Houndstooth Tie in Olive (below far right).

Next I headed over to Jeffrey, the store I try to avoid because there's always incredible designer picks I want. I tried on a really cool short sleeve Jil Sander sweater (more to come on that), but ended up taking home a green Givenchy Paisley print tie (far left below) and a Jil Sander Hexagon print in navy (middle).

I also grabbed the matching pocket square for the Jil Sander print, and can't wait to wear them together for an (overly) coordinated look.

Shoes from Jil Sander: Things I Want

When you dream about owning a pair of shoes, it is really telling. Telling you that you need to buy them! Last night I dreamt that these amazing Jil Sander derbys were mine. All mine.

Alas I woke up this morning without them in my closet, but it's a sign that I am obsessed with these shoes. I am never afraid of rocking some color, but until now haven't done so in a leather lace up. These are perfect for Spring, and I love that the upper and sole are in the same color. Well done Raf!

You can get these beauts directly from Oki-Ni -- or if nothing else, see more drool worthy photos of them. Then maybe you'll dream about 'em too!

Editorial from Oki-ni: Things I Love

I totally fell in love with this Oki-ni editorial when I saw it today on Coute que Coute. The whole mood feels like Spring: the lighting, the model sitting in the window, the shorts and sandals. Very well styled and shot and it got me in the mood for Saturday evening barbeques and walking around empty streets on a Sunday afternoon.

It also helps that some of my favorite labels are shown... Band of Outsiders, Kitsune, Thom Browne, Jil Sander. The list goes on!

Below is my favorite look: some Kitsune shorts with a Band of Outsiders shirt. Love it!

If you didn't already get this from my raving above, you must check out the rest of the shots!

Jil Sander S/S 2011 at Pitti: Things I Want

This year at Pitti Uomo, Jil Sander was invited to do the special presentation (an honor Thom Browne had last year... I'm still salivating over it!).

And after seeing photos and video today of the show, let me just say that Raf Simons turned it out! What an amazing collection for Spring 2011! While the label's namesake has been rockin' and rollin' over at Uniqlo (with her J+ collab), I think Raf has been doing a great job at invigorating both the men's and women's lines (plus the new Navy line).

I love the solid bright colors, the layering of colors, the striped knits, and the floral motif. I am seriously pining for purple shirt and green pants below. And the light pink jacket. And the purple shorts. And...

I shared a few of my favs here, but please do check out the rest of the show: http://blog.wearethemarketblog.com/?p=6647. And a great review from Esquire: http://www.esquire.com/blogs/mens-fashion/jil-sander-pitti-061710.

Things I Have: Sweater vest from Uniqlo

I have been singing the praises of Uniqlo for a long long time.  Ever since I started traveling to Asia... and even though they now have a store in NYC, I am more frequently in China, Hong Kong, or Japan and so stock up there.

I love the fit (nice & slim), I love the bevy of colors on offer (a lot of bright and eye catching shades!), and I love the price.  Picking up a crewneck merino wool sweater in four colors is an easy pick for Fall.

And while I did do that, I also bought this great button down cardigan with a fun argyle print.  Can't wait to layer this over my white J. Crew oxford...  as soon as the temp drops a bit.

And since the J+ line (designed by Jil Sander!) is dropping next month, I may have to venture out to Manhattan to check it out.

In the meantime, peruse the Uniqlo Fall range here: http://www.uniqlo.com/us/explorer.html#/code:057899-000-08/

Things I Want: Jil Sander for Uniqlo

I am such a fan of Uniqlo (and so happy to be back in Asia, so I can stock up!)... I love how they have a basic sweater or shirt or pair of pants, and they carry it in a dozen colors. And the price is right. And it fits me so well!

So now I cannot wait for the designs by Jil Sander for Uniqlo. Below is the dress shirt, but I've been seeing a few other images crop up and I cannot wait for the launch on October 1.
