Todd Snyder x Seavees Sneakers: Things I Want

Todd Snyder is on a roll... each of his collections is better than the last, he had a collab at the Gap last year (creating the only pair of cargo pants I'd be willing to wear), and an upcoming partnership with athletic wear brand Champion.

So it's not a surprise that I want his latest release -- sneakers, produced with Seavees. The low sneaker (below) is covered in gray jersey, and I'm obsessed with the thick leather laces.

Evoking a bout in the boxing ring, I can easily see wearing these with khakis on a casual Friday, or for a ride in the park. Very cool -- and limited edition, so snatch them up now!

Sneakers from Veja: Things I Want

While walking through the 10eme this week, next to Canal St. Martin, I came across a great shop carrying men's and women's items, called Centre Commercial. Was drawn to some shoes they had in the window, and discovered a well selected set of apparel and accessories from a variety of European designers.

Those shoes that had caught my eye were the new Mediterranee model from French label Veja. I really liked the simple two-toned design, thinking this would be a great item for Summer. After speaking with the staff, I learned that all of Veja's shoes are produced in Brazil.

With a digestible price point (60 EUR), these are a great add to your closet. Check out more information on the Veja site.

Supra Hightops: Things I Want

Bring on the hightops! I just keep finding pairs I love and until my budget allows me to stock up on Pierre Hardy and Lanvin, I think Supra may just be the perfect thing.

While in Paris (I'm now sadly en route back Stateside) I ran across a shop called Black Rainbow, in the Marais. It was totally my kind of space: minimal, stocked with Bathing Ape, decks, and some great high tops.

These babies from their holiday collection totally caught my eye. I really like Supra's back panel around the heel and the side detail. And all of their shoes were around 100 EUR. Can't go wrong!

So now I love Supra (check them out here) but I also had to investigate this Black Rainbow. Turns out their shop on Rue des Archives is just one facet of the company... they are also a creative agency, design their own collections, and operate an online store and blog. Boom!

Stay tuned for more on Supra, and if you can tell me more about Black Rainbow, I'd love to hear it.

Steven Alan x Keds: Things I Want

Who would have thought I would ever want another pair of Keds? They are shoes for kids... or are they? On a recent collab with Steven Alan, some pretty great designs have been produced and I would love to get my hands on some.

The blue and gray chambray (shown below) are great for their simplicity and contrasting rubber sole. But I think the other two (navajo inspired? and really, this navajo resurgence has been going on for a while now) are more up my alley...

But whether you prefer the simple or the colorful, these shoes are great for casual wear (and a casual price!)... check out Selectism with more info.

Things I Want: Canvas Sneakers from Australia

I know I recently posted about the Clae sneakers I ordered from Gilt (which have yet to arrive)... but I saw these canvas sneakers from Australia (being offered at Steven Alan) and I mean, they are so different from the green mesh pair I have coming. I can definitely do both!

I am digging the simplicity of these shoes, with the blue trim. But honestly what stood out to me is what seem like an exaggerated front toe. The rubber up there seems to be bulkier and it has an accentuated curve to it. Caught my eye!

Here's the link to buy them from Steven Alan (and check out his shirts while you are there): http://www.stevenalan.com/product.php?cat=1023&productid=17845.

But what led me to these shoes is a guy's summer shoe review by Refinery 29: http://www.refinery29.com/eight-summer-mens-shoes.php.

Happy reading!

Things I Want: Alife Slip-ons

I recently bought my first pair of Alife sneakers -- gray high tops with an aqua sole (see post). I've received a lot of compliments on them... and while I have a slight obsession with high tops at the moment, these news slip-ons from Alife's Spring 2010 range look very cool.

Love that there are no shoelaces and they've only outlined the lace holes. Love the simple black upper with the very Common Projects-esque writing on the back right of the shoe. And I think the hint or red on the heel is a really nice touch.

In general, a very simply but well designed shoe that I could wear all over the place!

Things I Want: Dior Homme High Tops

I've had a thing lately for high tops (umm, prior post about my new Alife kicks!) and was checking out some rockin' Lanvins at the Webster in Miami.

Today though I saw these from Dior Homme and I love the wrap around laces and the height of the shoe. Very cool and makes me want some skinny jeans that I can tuck inside!

Now due to the cost these are definitely on a *wish* list... but here's to hoping!

Things I Have: Alife Sneakers

Looking in my closet, I made a mental note that it was time to rotate in some new sneakers. My Hogans, which I love and wear constantly, are nearing the end of their life. And the rockin' blue espadrilles I bought in France this summer just don't work on a winter day.

Luckily I found some really fun (and comfortable) new kicks at Barney's... on sale and everything. They came with three pairs of laces -- gray (as seen here), aqua (to match the sole), and black. Fun!

I wore these every day during the Christmas holiday and I think they're fantastic.

If you're interested in getting a pair yourself (check out the red ones!): http://www.barneys.com/Everybody%20Hi/077025184,default,pd.html

Things I Want: Shoes by Lanvin

Another brilliant shoe by Lanvin... love it, love it, love it. The suede pieces, the stiching around the ankle, the inlaid materials.

And I know, I have been so delinquent lately in posting. But now I am back & will be sharing the things I want, the things I have (not much new lately, to be honest), and the things I love. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, you can learn more about these kicks from Selectism: http://www.selectism.com/news/2009/03/25/lanvin-autumnwinter-2009-footwear/
