Specs from Tom Ford: Things I Want

Just last week I was thinking I could use a new pair of specs... I'm loving the Warby Parker's I have now but something a little more unique.

This morning I came across these rockin' frames from Tom Ford (quelle surprise). Mix of a light navy around the eyes with a tortoise type print on the sides. Love the contrast and how it stands out.

Definitely keeping an eye (no pun intended) on these -- they're listed at Restir but currently sold out. More info from the good folks at Hypebeast.

Carven x Porter Backpack: Things I Want

Two of my favorite brands -- Carven and Porter, have collaborated on a backpack. Dream come true.

I've been obsessed with Porter for years, and on my last trip to Japan picked up a couple of pieces... the "problem" is that Porter collaborates with so many different brands, designers, artists that there is always something to want. Saturdays Surf, Margaret Howell, Comme des Garcons, the list goes on.

This piece with Carven is awesome -- I love the quilted body, leather pocket, and fabric side panels.

More info at Hypebeast, and you can pick one up at Matches.

BWGH Sweatshirt: Things I Want

I've been tracking new label Brooklyn We Go Hard (BWGH) since last year -- having spotted it in a men's shop in Biarritz. Started by two Parisians, they're known for their "Brooklyn Parle Francais" sweatshirts, as well as an assortment of embellished shirts, and relaxed pants.

For Spring they've released some new styles, and one that stood out to me -- "Brooklyn From Paris" with the Brooklyn bridge and bowling pins. Tres cool. Also love the blue elbow patches and stretched out collar.

Available from the Hypebeast shop, and see what other deliveries they have in stock...

Fashion Dream Team Tees: Things I Love

Just this morning I came across a line of tees with the names of designers and the year they were born on the back, made to look like a sports jersey. From Les Plus Dores, it is the "dream team of fashion". Included are McQueen (RIP), Dolce, Simons, and others... but my personal favorite is Tisci!

I am such a fan of the Givenchy designer and definitely want to rock this out... get over to Hypebeast for more info and a full list of available names.

Buckle Brogue by Thom Browne: Things I Want

There is a lot of good Thom Browne news lately... first I found out he is launching a new lower priced line called Thom Grey (can't wait to head to Barney's to check that out). Now I've come across these brogues he's done for Fall. And I'm hooked.

Nothing too crazy about the shoe itself, just a great classic black brogue. But I love the silver buckle with the TB-esque grosgrain strap. Such a subtle but cool touch to the shoe.

They're available now at oki-ni for 850 GBP (definitely an investment shoe), but read more over at Hypebeast.

Regatta Tote from Head Porter: Things I Want

I'm always a sucker for a good tote bag, and with Spring (hopefully) coming I'll need some pool and beach-side very soon. And a good tote from Head Porter is too hard to resist... I mean, they do call it the "Regatta" collection.

Made from a waterproof tarp material, the two-toned bags are in four colorways. I can't decide if the black/blue or white/yellow is my favorite. I think I'd prefer a custom black/yellow option!

But either way, more goodness from the folks at Head Porter. Check out Hypebeast for more info!

Suits from Ana Locking: Things I Love

I've been following label Ana Locking for a while and was excited by their Fall '12 collection. And no, not because they featured Clement Chabernaud (well, maybe a little).

I am always attracted to color and pattern, and they did a great job here of blending it with classic pieces and a buttoned up "gentlemanly" aesthetic.

There's great tailoring, and I'm really into the three piece suits, especially the red plaid shown below. Of course the pops of yellow are also a draw, and I think an interesting color selection to bring into Fall.

Overall a concise collection that stays true to it's theme... and I'm going to keep my eyes out for that red suit (and raffia wrapped briefcase!). More info via Hypebeast...

Tie from Uniform Experiment: Things I Want

I just came across these ties from Japanese brand uniform experiment and love them! The two-toned contrast is awesome and would definitely stand out when worn. I also dig the logo action "UE" on the bottom.

The black and darker blue version is my favorite, will definitely look to pick one of these up.

Jimmy Choo Boots for Spring: Things I Want

I've been keeping my eye on the Jimmy Choo men's collections since they launched last year... there have been some fun styles (although Choo & Loub are starting to cross over a bit in the men's space).

But this morning the Spring 2012 offering jumped off the page at me -- brightly colored boots, and of course anything in yellow goes right on my want list!

Found these on Hypebeast (naturally) who found it on Honeyee (naturally) and I love the prices in Yen.

Dr. Romanelli x Converse Sneakers: Things I Want

I can always go for a new pair of sneakers, and this pair released as a collab between Dr. Romanelli x Converse are pretty cool. Nautical theme -- check. Anchors -- check. Mid-top with red-striped ankle -- check.

Now as far as collabs go, this one is pretty complex. It's called Beetle vs. Popeye, because the other shoe in the line is a fatigues inspired "Beetle Bailey". Of course I'm siding with Popeye...

Hypebeast has a great interview with Dr. Romanelli, and more looks at the collab.

Lady Gaga Tee from Artisanal Ansatz: Things I Want

From that source of so much that is cool, Hypebeast, I got hooked on these celebrity driven tees. Created by an art collective in Belgium, the tees feature fashion, music, film personalities... but the drawings were all done with ballpoint pen.

The collective, Artisanal Ansatz, has created drawings of David Bowie, to Snoop Dogg, to Karl Lagerfeld (naturally). Given I already own a Brazilian made voodoo doll of Karl I decided the Coke can-in hair-on the phone Gaga was my favorite...

If you're as intrigued by these as I am, you can find Gaga here and the others here.

Prints Prints Prints from Agi & Sam: Things I Want

Today I came across a label I wasn't familiar with... agi & sam, created by Agape Mdumulla and Sam Cotton. Having worked for designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, and Carolyn Massey, the duo have released images for their third collection, entitled "Tabasco, Tequila, and Tomato Juice".

It is definitely a print heavy, bold collection with a very artistic approach. Given my adoration of anything bright and printed, I took to some of the pants, as well as the yellow coat shown below.

Currently without U.S. distribution (although I could definitely see this line at Opening Ceremony), I will be keeping an eye out for future work from agi & sam.

You can see more photos from the collection at Hypebeast.

Pierre Hardy Tote Bag: Things I Want

Currently traveling in South America and it's weird to be ahead of NY for a change... so instead of perusing millions of tweets this morning, there were just a few. And one of them was from Hypebeast, which led me to my newest source of salivation.

I totally love Pierre Hardy's geometric pattern -- on shoes, wallets, and now on this awesome tote bag.

Not much else I need to describe my lust for this... pretty self-explanatory I think!

Hypebeast sends you to a Japanese online store where the bag can be yours for only 90,000 Yen. Or about 4500 Argentian Pesos. Or 1000 USD.

Schott x Converse Hightops: Things I Want

Another great hightop option, this one in a collab between Schott and Converse. I really like the look of the navy blue leather, the zipper all the way up the tongue, and the details in the stitching.

This is an example of a collaboration that draws on DNA from both brands involved, stays true to both, and produces a great product!

Ceramic Bowtie: Things I Want

As I've previously written, I am accumulating quite a collection of bowties. Most of them are of the cloth variety, although I do have one made from a Ken doll's head. (In case you missed it)

Now this morning I see this amazing ceramic bowtie, from Italy. I definitely want to add this to my collection -- love the take on the traditional tie, and this is definitely a conversation starter.

Via Hypebeast, the ties are produced by Cor Sine Labe Doli and come in black (shown here) or brown. Check them out!

Sophnet Tote Bag: Things I Want

I have an obsession with bags -- I have a closet full of them, and rotate around depending on the occasion. So yesterday I was thrilled to see two different bags that I loved.

One was in a new accessories release from Dries van Noten, and the other was this monogrammed + striped piece from Sophnet (yes, of course, it's from Japan).

I really liked the simple construction of the bag and the light monogram pattern. And the stripes were the finishing touch that got me.

Now getting my hands on this tote is another matter... but I will see what I can do!

Hightops from Onitsuka Tiger: Things I Want

Do I even need to write anything about these? They're freakin' amazing. Loving the tonal blues, the suede and leather pieces, and the high white tongue.

Fantastic work from Onitsuka Tiger...

That is all.

Check out Hypebeast for more pics!

Hayashi x Vans Hightops: Things I Want

Another pair of shoes for me to salivate over. Feeding into my ongoing obsession with hightops comes this collaboration between Japanese artist Taka Hayashi and Vans.

I love the mix of materials (the leather outer piece really makes the whole shoe). The additional details are also really nice -- the loop on the top (which always helps me pull the shoe on), the design on the toe, and the texture on the leather piece.

Well done for Vans and a great item I'd love to add to my closet!

Check it out here on Hypebeast!

Cape from BBC: Things I Want

Okay, don't laugh. But I have been sort of fascinated with capes for a while now. I even convinced my friend Jamie to try one on at Uniqlo (the armholes were too high). But there is something about the flow and the flexibility of a cape that intrigues me.

Luckily one of my favorite labels (the Pharrell fronted) Billionaire Boys Club has come out with a pretty rockin' cape.

Camel is (in my opinion) the best color for a cape, totally versatile. This one comes with a hood, which is the only part I'm not too sure about... but I'll have to try it on to see!

BBC has a store in SoHo and you can read more about this cape at Hypebeast.

Duffel from Herschel: Things I Want

Always on the lookout for new luggage, but especially for a nice weekend bag. I mean, I think I only have four or five already, so an addition to the collection is most welcome.

Yesterday I came across this great duffel from Herschel and have to admit I was sold on the shoe compartment. Great way to keep your (often dirty) shoes away from the rest of your items, and keeps them accessible as well.

I also really liked the leather handles and the contrasting navy blue color of the bag.

Now unfortunately the bag is not available until July 1! But for now read more about it at Hypebeast: http://hypebeast.com/2010/06/herschel-2010-springsummer-collection-duffle/.
