Just One Look: Billy Reid Spring 2013
The drapy nature of some of the pieces was on trend from what I've seen for Spring, nice and loose and light.
But my favorite look was this one... this paneled knit sweater that is almost sheer on top, with a dark copper colored pant that has a fantastic shine and polish. Finished up with the jacket the whole thing reminds me more of Cary Grant than southern gentleman, but it's a nice move forward for Billy Reid.

Things I Want: Ballantyne Spring 2010
I'm sorry but I can't say I've ever paid much attention to Ballantyne (apart from reading last year that Phillipe Starck and his wife were going to collab on a few pieces with the label).
But I am dying over their Spring 2010 lookbook. Can I please have all of it!
I've copied in a few of my favorites here (the blue sweater with the boat is amazing) and I am drooling over the take on the argyles in bright colors.
Found these at that Bible of men's fashion photos (Fashionisto, naturally)... go there for more from the Ballantyne lookbook: http://thefashionisto.com/blog/2010/03/07/ballantyne-spring-2010-jakob-wiechmann/.

Things I Want: Matthew Williamson Menswear
So this is my second attempt at posting about Matthew Williamson... last year I re-posted an image from his collab with H&M and was asked to remove it. The collection with H&M was Matthew's first foray into menswear and there were some pretty fun pieces. Although in the end I only took home the beach towel.
Well friends, now there's a menswear collection under Matthew Williamson's own label and from the initial shots I think it's pretty great!
Love the cardigan, the hand-decorated t-shirt, and the bright and beautiful scarf. Amazing!

Things I Want: More Specs!
I know I posted earlier this week about my new (and amazing) white specs that I picked up in Shanghai... but I think I had alluded to there being other styles of glasses I saw at the market which I didn't buy (and am kicking myself now).
Well this morning I was reading one of my favorite blogs (Fashionisto) and saw this photo from a recent photo shoot in Peng magazine... these are the EXACT frames I was looking at in Shanghai, but didn't buy because I was running out of time.
Darn, I am so bummed I didn't get them! I loved the dark blue at the top and the fade to clear going towards the bottom. And the large squarish shape. Fun fun fun.

Things I Love: Richard Burbridge Photoshoot for Dazed and Confused
One of my favorite men's fashion blogs is The Fashionisto. Great coverage of men's lines with a ton of wonderful photos.
From them today is a really amazing post with a photo shoot done for Dazed & Confused magazine. I deliberated on which photo was my favorite and settled o nthis one. Great face makeup, love the ribbons wrapped around Lyle's body. So cool! And while I'm not a huge fan of the bowler in general, it works here with the black by offsetting all of the wild colors (and the bruising facial paint job).
